The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle

The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle - Haruki Murakami, Jay Rubin I could try to explain why this book spoke to me and what the hell I think it's trying to say but that would require me to actually figure either one of those things out. It's really long and really captivating and parts of it are really abstract and the ending doesn't really resolve anything at all and there are a lot of good scenes with cats and a moment of torture so visceral it made my skin crawl and beautifully-written passages about Japan's darkest moments in history and I know I'll read it again someday. That's it.
